Activities

The landscape of the massif of els Ports, declared Natural Park in 2001, are stunningly beautiful; for example the Parrizal where the River Matarraña is born. The name of the county comes from this river. The park has an extension of 35, 000 hectares and 900 hectares have been declared a Nature reserve because of their wealth of wild life and fauna. The reserve spreads over the area where the provinces of Tarragona, Castellon and Teruel meet up. In the Teruel part, there are the villages of Fuentespalda, Valderrobres, Peñarroya and Beceite. All of them are in the county of Matarraña.
